Meeting Opening

The board meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call. All board members were present.

CEO Report

The CEO shared updates about current programs, partnerships, contracts, and future opportunities for Paratransit. The report focused on ways to improve services and expand transportation options in the community.

Financial Report

Paratransit reported several positive results:

More than 211,000 trips were provided through partner agencies this year.

The Mobility Management Program helped train:

49 seniors and people with disabilities

142 youth riders

The maintenance department completed over 2,100 vehicle repairs and service work orders.

Revenue from Measure A and Transportation Development Act funding was higher than expected.

Overall, Paratransit reported a net income of about $441,000 for the first eight months of the fiscal year.

Community Services

Paratransit continues to support local organizations by providing:

Transportation services

Vehicle maintenance

Driver training

Fuel support

Food deliveries

The agency has delivered more than 30,000 meals through its partnership with the Sacramento Food Bank.

Public Comment

One community member requested longer ride reservation hours and suggested creating backup transportation options when drivers are running behind schedule.

Grants and Funding

Staff discussed funding opportunities and explained that state and regional funding sources are currently more reliable than some federal funding sources. Paratransit is also working to receive federal funding directly in the future.

Board members talked about ways to improve services and build new partnerships. Topics included:

Better mobility options for the community

Planning for Paratransit’s 50th anniversary in 2028
